CPI obtained within 90 days of hire.Complete Description:Minimum: Graduate of an accredited School ofRegistered Professional Nursing. Preferred: BSNLicense: Current New York State RegisteredProfessional Nurse licensureCertifications: BLS required through AHA or RQI systemduring clinical orientation. CPI obtained within 90 days of hire.Job Functions:- Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units.- Assures quality resident care through teachingand supervision of staff on respective shifts.- Communicates with Director of Nursing and/or NurseManager regarding identified and potential unit problems and collaborates with Directorof Nursing and/or Nurse Managers to resolve problems. Contacts Director of Nursing on off hours foronly those critical issues requiring resolution and leaves appropriatecommunication at work for all other items.- Makes sound administrative decisions in the absence of the Director of Nursing and the Administrator - LTC (off-shift/weekends) within identified scope of responsibility.Other Requirements: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing - LTC and in accordance with established policies and procedures, oversees the operation of the nursing units and personally or through subordinates, provides clinical supervision to employees assigned to the various nursing units. Ability to collaborate effectivelywith medical staff, department managers, ancillary services and customers in aprofessional and courteous manner. Demonstrated ability to manage selfprofessionally in stressful situations.Ability to facilitate clinical management, work effectively underpressure, meet deadlines, manage multiple priorities and enhance the spirit ofteamwork through effective role modeling.Familiarity with NYSDOH requirements.Demonstrated excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication (written andoral), analytical, and organizational skills. Computer literacy.Exposure Control Classification: Occupational exposure tobloodborne pathogens is reasonably anticipated. Required tasks involve apotential contact with blood, body fluids, tissue.Customer Focus: Models, exemplifies and leadsin accordance with Healing Environment principles. Specifically:being professional, communicating effectively, and attending to the careenvironment.
